July 11-14, 2019 Montana heading west
Pictures to come soon:
When we left Gail’s on July 11th we traveled to
Hardin, MT and stayed in a hot, humid, icky campground overnight. We talked about how we really don’t like to
“camp” anymore like we used to, but I think it is just because that place was
gross and we don’t have any friends to camp with. I’d really like it if we could camp with Lisa
and Glenn sometime. That would be a
blast. Then we might like it. We also want to meet up with Cheryl and
Garth. Last time we camped with them was
20 years ago when Sierra was a 5 month old baby! We are more into nicer places and seeing
things right now. Maybe if we weren’t
working full time we could “camp” and enjoy it.
Who knows..I think a lot of factors play into that including having
naughty animals that we don’t have control of properly.
The next day we went to Bozeman, MT and stayed in a really
nice Walmart parking lot with probably 15 other campers. We spent $120 there so it was justified
ha! We spend a lot of time and money
shopping at Walmart so they can put us up periodically. Mike was very restless because he hadn’t been
to a gym in like 4 days so he went for a 5 mile walk late at night until he
realized the weather was getting bad. We
had lots of thunderstorms that night too.
We left Walmart the next morning and found a place that had
an opening about 30 miles before Missoula.
It was called Bearmouth RV park.
It was a no frills place but had some really pretty views along with a
river running next to it. I was just
happy we had a place to hook up and allow me to watch Live PD. The bad part was lack of Internet and phone
service. Weekends are our busiest times
for work so we were pretty stressed about that.
After Mike took a good nap and I watched some TV with the hounds, we
walked them. It was hot and humid so the
dogs were happy to get back into the air conditioned RV. A big thunderstorm came up and pelted us with
large bubblegum sized hail (like the jawbreaker size) for quite a while. All we can think about when that happens is
our brand new car getting trashed. That
is the drawback of buying a new car. As
of this writing, we still haven’t inspected it~I’m thinking that is because we
don’t want to know. We don’t need any
more bad news for a while. The storms
went all night on and off. Bella didn’t
come and cry or lay with us so we are thinking she may be getting used to the storms. That is a relief because it rains a lot in
Newport.
Today, July 14, we are driving to Sandpoint, Idaho. We have been talking about going there for 2
years now and one of my good friends just moved there a month ago so we figured
this was the perfect opportunity. More
to come when we leave Sandpoint!
